Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
1. Who we are
Field to Fork Catering is operated by Dave Corker as a sole trader, based in Devon, United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Dave is the data controller for the personal information collected through this website and through direct contact about catering services.
You can contact us about anything in this policy by emailing info@fieldtoforkcatering.co.uk or by WhatsApp on +44 7827 323541.
2. The law that protects you
We comply with the United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, together with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) which govern cookies and similar technologies.
3. What information we collect
When you contact us through the website or about a booking, we may collect:
- Your name, email address and phone or WhatsApp number.
- Details of the event you are planning, including date, venue, guest numbers, dietary requirements and budget range.
- Any other information you choose to share with us in your enquiry or in subsequent correspondence.
When you visit any page of the site, our hosting provider records standard server logs that may include your IP address, the pages you visit, the time of the visit and your browser type. These are used to keep the site secure and operating reliably.
4. How we use your information and the lawful basis
Under UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for using your information. We rely on the following:
- Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)): to respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote, plan your event, and deliver catering services if you choose to book.
- Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)): to keep our website secure (anti-spam protection on the contact form), to keep records of past events for our own portfolio, and to improve our services. We have considered these interests against your rights and we believe they are balanced.
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a)): for any non-essential cookies and embedded content, as described in section 8 below. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)): to keep records as required by HMRC and food safety authorities.
Where we process information about your dietary needs or allergies, we treat this as special category data under Article 9 and rely on your explicit consent given in your booking, used solely to deliver food safely at your event.
5. Who we share information with
We share information only where it is necessary to deliver our services or where we are required to by law. Our main service providers (data processors) are:
- Resend (resend.com): delivers transactional emails sent through our contact form. Your name, email and message pass through Resend's infrastructure to reach our inbox.
- Cloudflare (cloudflare.com): provides Turnstile, the anti-spam check on our contact form, and may serve some site assets.
- Google (google.com): supplies Google Fonts (typography), the embedded map on the Contact page (only loaded with your consent), and Google Places data used to display public Google reviews.
- Hostinger / EasyPanel: our hosting infrastructure where the website runs.
- HMRC and food safety authorities: where we are legally required to share information.
We do not sell or trade your personal information. We do not share your information with marketing partners.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers (notably Resend, Cloudflare and Google) are based in or transfer data to the United States. Where this happens, transfers are protected by the UK's adequacy regulations and by the standard contractual clauses approved by the UK Information Commissioner. We do not transfer your information to any country without an appropriate safeguard in place.
7. How long we keep your information
We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described above:
- Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: up to two years from your last contact, then deleted.
- Confirmed bookings and event records: for the duration of the contract and for six years after the end of the financial year of the event, in line with HMRC record-keeping requirements.
- Server logs: typically 30 to 90 days, depending on the provider.
- Cookie preferences stored in your browser: until you clear them or change them.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small piece of data that a website places in your browser. We group cookies and similar technologies into four categories. You can control all of them from the cookie banner shown when you first visit, and reopen the preferences at any time using the link in our footer.
Strictly necessary
Always active. Cloudflare Turnstile sets short-lived cookies to verify you are not a bot when you submit our contact form. We also store your cookie preferences in your browser's local storage so that the banner does not reappear on every page. The site cannot function safely without these.
Functional
Default on, but you can opt out. Google Fonts loads our typography (DM Sans and Cormorant Garamond) from Google's servers. This sends your IP address to Google but does not set cookies. With this disabled, the site falls back to system fonts.
Analytics
Default off. Reserved for future anonymous, aggregated analytics. We do not currently load any analytics service. If we add one (for example Google Analytics), it will only run if you opt in.
Embedded content
Default off. The map on our Contact page is supplied by Google and sets cookies in your browser when loaded. We do not load it unless you opt in. While disabled, we show a placeholder with a link that opens the map directly in Google Maps in a new tab.
9. Your rights
You have the following rights over your personal data under UK GDPR:
- Right of access: you can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Right to rectification: you can ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Right to erasure: you can ask us to delete information, subject to our legal obligations to retain certain records.
- Right to restrict processing: you can ask us to pause processing while we look into a query.
- Right to data portability: you can ask for your information in a machine-readable format.
- Right to object: you can object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Right to withdraw consent: where we rely on consent (cookies, embedded content), you can withdraw it at any time from the cookie preferences.
To exercise any of these rights, please email info@fieldtoforkcatering.co.uk. We will respond within one calendar month, as required by UK GDPR.
10. Right to complain
If you believe we have not handled your information lawfully, you have the right to complain to the United Kingdom's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office.

12. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including secure transmission of form submissions over HTTPS, anti-spam protection on the contact form, and limiting access to your information to people who need it to deliver our services. No method of transmission over the internet is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, services or legal obligations. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when we last revised it. Material changes that affect your rights will be flagged on the website or by email where appropriate.
